Dental implant
1. Doctor, what is a dental implant?
A dental implant is the best way to replace a missing tooth. It basically involves placing a small titanium screw into the bone—this screw replaces the root of the lost tooth.
After the healing process, the implant provides a strong base to support a crown, which is the visible part of the tooth.
The crown is usually made of resin or porcelain.
2. Doctor, can the body reject a dental implant?
97% of dental implants are successful, and 3% may fail. What causes failure?
There are several possible reasons:
-
Overheating of the bone during installation
-
Manufacturing defects in the implant
-
Contamination at the time of surgery
-
Among other factors
The important thing is not to lose trust in the treatment—implants are still the safest and most definitive solution for replacing missing teeth.
Even if an implant fails, another one can often be placed in the same area, respecting the proper healing period.
At our clinic, we have a failure rate of just 1%. We wish it were zero, but we always stand by our patients every step of the way.
3. Doctor, how long does it take for an implant to fully heal?
Complete healing of the implant can take around 18 months,
but with today’s technology, most final treatments are completed within 6 months—
and in certain cases, we can restore a smile in as little as 72 hours.
4. I lost my teeth over 20 years ago—how do I know if I still have enough bone?
The only way to know is by taking an X-ray, which can be either a panoramic scan or a CT scan.
At our clinic, we provide in-office panoramic imaging.
And don’t worry—the vast majority of patients who lost their teeth a long time ago still have enough bone for implant placement.
5. Doctor, are dental implants expensive?
I can’t give you exact pricing without evaluating you first,
but I can say that a removable denture will likely cost more over time than a well-planned implant treatment.
6. Doctor, I want an implant but I’m afraid the bone graft will be painful.
It’s true—a bone graft is a more involved procedure than the implant itself.
However, we use modern techniques to make the process as comfortable as possible.
For example, we can use advanced materials like PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin),
and in more complex cases, we can offer conscious or deep sedation so you can undergo treatment without trauma or fear.
7. Doctor, what is a PRF bone graft?
A PRF graft is a modern alternative to traditional grafting methods that used to require taking bone from other parts of the body.
Here’s how it works:
-
We draw a small amount of your blood
-
It’s processed in a centrifuge
-
The part rich in fibrin is separated
-
This is combined with lyophilized bone to create a mixture we call "sticky bone"
This material is placed at the implant site, and after 6 to 8 months, the area is ready for a successful implant.

What Is Facial Harmonization?
Facial harmonization is not a single procedure, but rather a combination of treatments designed to improve the overall balance and esthetics of the face.
There’s no fixed formula—it is completely personalized to each patient’s needs.
How Does Facial Harmonization Work?
The first step is a detailed consultation, where I listen to the patient’s concerns—what bothers them esthetically—and perform a full facial evaluation.
From there, we create a customized treatment plan that may include different procedures depending on the case.
In some patients, we focus on managing the aging process, stimulating collagen, or reducing wrinkles. In others, we simply improve specific areas, like lip volume, lifting the nose tip, or reducing under-eye shadows.
What Are the Most Common Facial Harmonization Procedures?
There are several treatments within facial harmonization. The most popular include:
-
Botulinum toxin (Botox) to reduce wrinkles
-
Lip fillers
-
Under-eye fillers
-
Nonsurgical nose reshaping (Rhinomodelation)
-
Sculptra®, a biostimulator that’s especially popular among patients
What Results Can I Expect?
Results vary, but in general, we aim for facial rejuvenation or correction of something that has bothered the patient for years, such as having very thin lips or a weak chin.
Who Can Get Facial Harmonization?
I often say facial harmonization is for everyone.
There’s no specific age to start, and it can be done on both men and women.
The key is to have a good reason and proper indication.
That said, pregnant or breastfeeding women should wait to undergo any aesthetic procedures. Enjoy this beautiful phase—and we’ll take care of the rest later!
What Are the Risks of Facial Harmonization?
Honestly, the biggest risk is falling in love with the results and wanting more!
But seriously—like any medical treatment, minor risks exist. That’s why it’s important to choose a qualified professional who can manage any unexpected reaction.
Allergic reactions or poor response to fillers are very rare, but they can happen.
A thorough evaluation and the right professional make all the difference.
How Do I Choose the Right Professional?
Choose someone who:
-
Makes you feel comfortable
-
Understands your goals
-
Has specific training in facial esthetics
Research their credentials, check before-and-after cases, and if everything looks good, you’ve found your expert!
How Much Does Facial Harmonization Cost?
That’s a common question—but the answer isn’t so simple.
Facial harmonization is fully customized, so the cost varies depending on what’s done.
One patient might need only Botox and a bit of lip filler.
Another might undergo Botox, filler, and threads.
The price is based on the number and type of procedures involved.
What Is the Recovery Like?
Most facial harmonization treatments have minimal downtime.
Patients often return to work or their routine right after the procedure.
You might experience some swelling or light bruising—but nothing major.
We typically recommend avoiding sun exposure and physical activity for 24 hours.
How Long Do the Results Last?
It depends on the procedure.
Some treatments last up to 24 months, while others need touch-ups sooner.
