Dental Implant Cleaning
When it comes to oral hygiene, implants require the same rigor as teeth. Implants are no more resistant to oral diseases than teeth. Therefore, plaque builds up on implants.
Post-operative care requires special care, as the mouth is sensitive during the procedure. The toothbrush should have a small, compact head, gently brushing the recently operated areas. It's also preferable to opt for ultra-soft bristles. Another important point is that implant hygiene can be supplemented with interdental brushes, which allow cleaning the area between the teeth and gums without traumatizing the tissue or implants.
The ideal is to use chlorhexidine, an anti-infective agent, together with the toothbrush.
